Don't worry, these sweet and sticky wings won't taste like your morning toast. But they will absorb all of the delicious rich umami flavours that vegemite contains! Packed with richness, vegemite has been used for years not only as a sandwich spread but as a flavour booster which is exactly what it does here. We've added some crunchy oven baked onion rings and creamy slaw to round out the perfect summery dinner. You're guaranteed to have some happy little vegemites around your table tonight.

Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Mince garlic. Combine garlic, oyster/soy, brown sugar, sweet chilli and vegemite with 1⁄4 cup of hot water, mix very well to disolve the vegemite into the marinade. Add the wings and mix well coat. Spread over a lined baking tray and bake for 30-35 minutes, turning once or twice until cooked through, sticky and golden.
Tip! Keep an eye on the wings to ensure they don't get too dark. If they colour too much, drop the heat a little and cover with some foil.
Slice onion into thick rings and separate them. Set up a crumbing station with the following 3 bowls: flour mixed with cajun spice, egg whisked with 1⁄4 cup of water, panko crumbs. Dip the rings into the flour, then egg, then crumbs. Place on a baking tray in a single layer. Bake for 30 minutes or until crispy, golden and tender inside.
Tip! You can air fry or pan fry these if you prefer. If air frying, cook at 200 for 8-10 minutes, shaking halfway through cooking.
Combine the prepared slaw and mayonnaise/yoghurt with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve the slaw, wings and onion rings immediately and dig in!
